The Edge FAQs

If you are currently living on campus and would like to change your assignment to The Edge, contact our office at jsuhousing@jsu.edu.  If you are not currently living on campus, you will need to log in to THD Self Service and submit the Transfer/New Upper Class Resident Application which is available now. New Fall 2025 and Spring 2025 applications will open on October 10. The Current Resident Reapplication opens February 1 within THD Self Service. Room selection will take place during Februrary 2025. Costs for fall 2024-summer 2025 are $3.500 per person per semester for a two-bedroom unit (utilities included). The lease is for 12 months which includes fall 2024, spring 2025, and summer 2025 semesters. We realize that for fall and spring semesters, many students will use financial aid and scholarships to pay for this but may be unable to use those funds in the summer months. 

Students moving into The Edge for spring 2025 will be responsible for spring 2025 and summer 2025 semesters of the lease agreement.

Upperclassmen students are eligible to live at The Edge. First-year students are not eligible for The Edge.

No, your amenities include a kitchen with new stainless-steel appliances (refrigerator, oven, dishwasher), which allow residents to prepare their own meals.

No, The Edge only offers two-bedroom, two-bathroom units.

Pets are not allowed at The Edge. Disability Resources approved Emotional Support Animals are allowed if an ESA Adendum has been completed. Contact jsuhousing@jsu.edu for more information.

Silver Student JSU decals will be issued to residents of The Edge. Residents will also receive their own Edge hanging tag that should be affixed to the rear view mirror. 

Rent is inclusive of water, sewer, trash, internet, and electricity.

No, payments must be made per semester by the payment due date. Students may register for a payment plan online through the Office of Student Accounts, more information can be found online at http://www.jsu.edu/bursar/PaymentPlan.html.

We are finalizing the security details for The Edge with the University Police Department.

Yes, Jax State Housing Operations and Residence Life staff members will conduct monthly health and safety inspections.

Residents are not able to sublease per the Jax State Housing Lease Agreement. Lease terms are for 12 months. Students seeking to break their leases will need to refer to the Housing Operations and Residence Life policy regarding Housing Buyout Request. Students moving into The Edge for spring will be responsible for spring and summer semesters of the lease agreement.

No, all furniture must remain in the unit. You may bring in any additional furniture, but cannot affix items to the walls such as mounting TVs, etc.

No, The Edge is still an active construction site. Do not visit the property; you will be considered a trespasser.

Mail deliveries and packages will not be accepted at The Edge. Students will need to pick up at the Mail Center in the Theron Montgomery Building. If you have food deliveries, please use the address for The Edge, 1838 Broadwell Mill Road.
