12/16/2024

Graduation ToastOn Thursday, December 12, approximately 50 attendees, including graduates, family, friends and faculty and staff, gathered at Merrill Hall Atrium for Jacksonville State's Fall Graduation Toast. This unique tradition, established in 2020, celebrates the achievements of Jax State's graduates as they prepare to take their next steps in life.

Dr. Don C. Killingsworth, Jr., President of Jacksonville State University, delivered this year's toast, offering words of encouragement and congratulations. He advised the graduates in his remarks, "Tomorrow is your day! Take it all in. Don't run across that stage…take your time and enjoy it!" He also encouraged attendees to consider continuing their academic journey at Jax State, saying, "Stick around for another degree."

Representatives from the Graduate School were on hand to share information about Jax State's graduate programs, encouraging attendees to explore opportunities for further education. The Alumni Engagement office also participated, offering graduates the chance to purchase graduation medallions and Grad Party Packs, adding a touch of celebration to their big day.

The event exemplified the spirit of the Jax State community, with faculty and staff coming together to honor the graduates' hard work and achievements. The Fall 2024 Commencement Ceremonies occurred on Friday, December 13, at Pete Mathews Coliseum.
