Family Nurse Practitioner (Doctor of Nursing Practice)
The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is a terminal degree in nursing that prepares Registered Nurses (RNs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to practice at the highest level of the profession. The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Track of the DNP program prepares registered nurses for advanced clinical practice and leadership roles. The FNP provides direct patient care to families and individuals across the lifespan in a broad array of practice settings. This track prepares students to meet the educational eligibility requirements to take a national certification examination through American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) and American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). In the FNP track, students obtain 700 clinical hours composed of simulation and direct patient care.
